“When God created the human, he called his Angels together and asked where would be the best place to hide the TRUTH about who they were. One Angel suggested hiding it on the top of the highest mountain. Another Angel suggested that the best place to hide it would be at the bottom of the deepest ocean. A third Angel said No! No! No! You need to hide the truth deep within them for they will never discover it there.”

This story really struck a chord and I feel moved to share my insight on this simple tale, and how we can use the grain of wisdom imparted to answer many of life’s most profound questions.

Take a moment and look around you. What do you see? Does anything surrounding you really have significant value? Is there any object or person that defines you as an individual, assists you with being your best self, finding your purpose, or discovering inner peace? Ask yourself what these items and relationships really mean to you on a soul level.
To most, the items represent a moment of external happiness that once passed resulted in disappointment, or boredom. The feeling you looked to create when attaining the item doesn’t last nearly as long as you thought it would, did it? It’s like taking a sip of water in a dry, hot dessert. It cannot sustain you for long, so you continue your search for more.

Relationships are important to mention too, because I truly believe that we all have a choice to surround ourselves with people who encourage us to awaken and grow spiritually, or those who assist us in ignoring a relationship with our higher self. People, items, addictions all serve as distractions and keep you from discovering the real beauty within.
What this story means to me is that we are equipped with everything we need to walk our spiritual path. God has provided us with the answers to our toughest questions when we take a moment to breathe, ask and listen. If you are quiet for long enough you will begin to hear the wisdom of your soul. It’s gentle, wise and never wrong. Who better to ask then your “higher self” to solve the challenging task of discovering your real self?

We all have a challenge placed before us when we arrive on this beautiful planet. The quest for learning your purpose requires you to separate yourself from the distractions of the outer world and take a journey within. This doesn’t imply that you can’t enjoy the magnificence all around you. It means that you need a balance of both to find peace and happiness.

Starting a soul journey may be scary to some. No two paths are the same. Each is as unique as you are. On a human level you truly must “go it alone.” No one can do it for you and no one can do it as well as you.

When I began this journey I wondered what I would find. I questioned whether I’d discover something wonderful, or frightening about myself. Was I really good at the core, or would I unveil a darkness that would shock or upset me? All those concerns were soon put at rest when I realized that first, I was not alone, and second, my soul was peaceful and beautiful. The true essence of my higher self astounded me and yours will too.
If you need a little reassurance and assistance to begin digging deep within I would suggest inviting Archangel Michael (The Archangel of your soul purpose) or Archangel Uriel (the Archangel of spiritual enlightenment) to be with you as you commence your journey.

After reading this, my hope is that you will consider revealing your truth from within. Noticing the spark inside yourself will provide the light you need for the challenge. I pondered those questions a few years back when I began to address a feeling that I’d had for many years that something in my life was missing. An important piece to my “life puzzle” was lost and I couldn’t identify what it was. The feeling was perplexing and frustrating at the same time. On the surface I had a good life, a happy marriage, wonderful children, financial stability, and strong faith. So the question was why was this feeling continuing to plague me?

I needed to find answers, so I began a journey of sorts. Or rather the journey initiated itself once I stopped looking outside myself for the answers and began to look within.

How do you do that, you ask? Well there is really no one way to do it. You have to find what works for you; meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, being out in nature, or whatever allows you to escape from your everyday thoughts. Artistic endeavors can also be a way of separating yourself from your ego for a while. Quiet you mind and begin to listen to the wisdom from within. This wisdom is available to everyone, and if you practice and exercise a little patience you’ll soon to realize that your world is much more than your 5 senses.

Once you identify with your “higher-self” (your soul) you can begin to ask some of those perplexing questions. The response may come as a thought, an opportunity, through another person, in something you read, etc. The universe has a wonderful way of supplying the answers you seek in surprisingly, creative ways.

For me, the answers to many of my questions came through my guardian angel, whom I met most unexpectedly. I write about this experience in my manuscript “Angels, My Soul and Me” which I hope to have published sometime later this year. I was encouraged to keep a journal of my experience so I would simply sit at my computer, say a prayer, clear my mind and begin typing. Sometimes I had questions, other times I just let the thoughts flow freely.
At one point I asked the question many of us ponder, what is my soul purpose? I have to admit that I didn’t get a full blown answer that first night. The universe knew better than to give me the entire picture at once. But, I have been given signs and encouragement to follow a distinctive path. A path that is verified by the passion I feel everyday in following it.

I’ll be the first to admit that walking your spiritual path isn’t always easy. Nothing worthwhile is. There will be times of great accomplishment and times when you’ll fall flat on your face. Part of learning is experiencing a whole range of successes and failures. What’s important is what you choose to do with what you have learned. You can use it to make you stronger, or you can allow yourself to be defeated.

You are never alone as you walk your path. You are divinely guided and when you ask for assistance it is always given. The more you open up to your possibilities, the more you become aware of your Divine guidance.
One form of guidance is through the Angelic Realm. Working with your guardian angels is a wonderful place to start, but if you are in need of a stronger influence I would recommend Archangel Michael. He is the leader of the Archangels and the angel to make contact with when desiring to know your soul purpose.

Michael’s energy is strong and protective, and he can remove fear and lower energies that may be keeping you from embarking on your soul journey. Simply ask Michael to assist you and begin to work with him every day. You will soon see the pieces of a beautiful puzzle coming together and forming an image of your life. This is your soul coming into view, the most perfect part of you.

Over time following your soul’s path will bring you peace, joy and a sense that your presence on this earth is important. You are significant and a part of something greater.

Little did I know seven years ago that discovering my soul purpose would lead me to where I am. I’ve written a manuscript, started Earth Angel Design.com, and have finally freed myself of the feeling that my life isn’t complete.

My wish for you today is that you will begin to answer the beckoning of your soul. Ponder your importance and ask your soul to impart its words of wisdom. The journey will at times be trying, but in the end you will live a more purposeful and meaningful life.

A week later I was there. Nurse Sharon did the normal physical and then she began asking me questions about my health. I told her a few of the symptoms I was having (because I didn’t want to overwhelm her with all of them on my first visit). She looked at me, paused and said “why don’t we do a Lyme’s Disease test”. I looked at her baffled, “I wasn’t bit by a tick…, I had no rash, no bulls eye—–or any of the tell tale signs that go with being bitten by a tick.” She replied, “Maybe not, but lets rule it out.” I agreed and went for the blood test the next morning.

The following week while continuing to feel ill I received a call at home from Sharon. She started the conversation with “so how are you feeling?” “Not well”, I replied. Then it hit me and I asked her if the test had come back positive…., and indeed it had. I was in the acute phase of Lyme’s Disease, which meant I had been bitten a few months prior. I began treatment that afternoon.

Now a week later, I am beginning to heal and feeling a little better each day. I know that I was guided to see Sharon by Raphael. The problem was caught early and I am looking forward to a complete recovery. Every challenge has a silver lining and mine is that I can tell you from experience the guidance and wisdom that can be imparted by our angels by simply asking, believing and listening. I now have a greater understanding of Raphael ‘s healing abilities and how he can guide us to finding the best person (or modality)to assist us in healing.
